그 지역에서 목자들이 밤에 들에서 지내며 그들의 양 떼를 지키고 있었다. 그런데 주님의 한 천사가 그들에게 나타나고, 주님의 영광이 그들을 두루 비추니, 그들은 몹시 두려워하였다. 천사가 그들에게 말하였다. “두려워하지 말아라. 나는 온 백성에게 큰 기쁨이 될 소식을 너희에게 전하여 준다. 오늘 다윗의 동네에서 너희에게 구주가 나셨으니, 그는 곧 그리스도 주님이시다. 너희는 한 갓난아기가 포대기에 싸여, 구유에 뉘어 있는 것을 볼 터인데, 이것이 너희에게 주는 표징이다.” (새번역)

In that region there were shepherds living in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see—I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord. 이번 주일 아이들 설교말씀은 목자들에게 아기예수의 탄생을 전하는 천사의 이야기 입니다. 아기 예수의 탄생이 있던 밤, 하나님의 천사는 목자들을 찾아와 아기 예수의 탄생을 알립니다. 그리고 다른 천사들과 함께 예수님의 탄생을 축하하며 기뻐합니다. 이를 들을 목자들을 다윗의 동네, 베들레헴으로 가 아기 예수를 방문하고 그 사실을 사람들에게 널리 전합니다. 하지만 사람들은 이를 듣고 이상히 여겼습니다. 왜냐하면 그들이 기다리던 구세주가 세상의 가장 낮은 곳 마구간으로 왔다는 것이 이해하기 어려웠기 때문입니다. 하지만 목자들은 자신들이 보고 들은 것들을 말하고 하나님께 영광을 돌렸습니다. 천사가 목자들에게 찾아와 아기 예수의 탄생을 전한 것은 아주 기이한 일이었습니다. 예수님 시대에 목자는 사회의 가장 낮은 지위를 가진 사람들이었습니다. 하지만 예수님의 탄생의 소식은 낮은 사람들을 통하여 세상에 알려지게 되었습니다. 예수님은, 복음은, 낮은 자들을 포함한 모든 사람들을 위해 이 땅에 오셨습니다. 예수님은 모든 이들을 대신해 죄값을 받으시고 하나님 나라를 선물해 주셔습니다. 이것이 바로 모든 이들을 위한 하나님의 계획이셨습니다. 우리 아이들이 예수 그리스도의 탄생을 즐거워 하며 또한 다시 오실 그리스도를 기대하는 믿음의 자녀들이 되기를 기도합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday is about the story of an angel who told shepherds about the birth of baby Jesus. On the night Jesus was born, the angel of God came to the shepherds to announce the birth of baby Jesus. All the angles were delighted about the news. The shepherds went to the town of David, Bethlehem, to visit baby Jesus, and told people what they had seen. However, people were surprised because it was hard to imagine how the Savior that they had been waiting for came to the lowest place of the world. But, the shepherds witnessed what they saw and heard and glorified God. It was strange that the angel came to the shepherds to tell the good news. In the days of Jesus, shepherds had the lowest status in the society, and the news about the birth of Jesus were spread to the world through them. Jesus, the good news, came to the world for all, including the low. Jesus was crucified and gave the kingdom of God as a gift to the world. This was God’s plan for everyone. We pray that our children enjoy the birth of Jesus Christ and be children of faith who expect Christ to come again.

이번주일 아이들 설교말씀은 놀라우신 하나님의 계획입니다. 아기예수의 출산을 기다리고 있던 요셉과 마리아는 아우구스투스 황제가 칙령에 따라 호적 등록을 해야 했습니다. 요셉은 다윗 가문의 자손이므로, 갈릴리의 나사렛 동네에서 유대의 베들레헴이라는 다윗의 동네로 함께 가야했습니다. 마리아가 출산할 날이 되었는데 그들이 머무를 방은 준비되어있지 않았습니다. 할 수 없이 마리아는 마구간에서 아기 예수를 낳고 포대기에 싸서 구유에 눕혔습니다. 마리아와 요셉은 자신들이 아기 예수를 그 곳에서 낳을 것이라고 예상하지 못했습니다. 예수님은 그렇게 세상의 가장 낮은 곳으로 오셨습니다. 사람들이 생각하는 메시아는, 즉 이스라엘 민족을 외부의 침략에서 보호하고 승리로 이끌 왕이 아닌, 인류 구원의 구세주 왕으로 우리에게 오셨습니다. 이것이 하나님의 놀라운 계획이었습니다. 우리 아이들이 날마다 다시 오실 예수님을 기대하며 그리고 하루하루를 하나님이 주신 놀라운 선물로 여기며 살아가기를 소망합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday worship is about the surprising God’s plan. According to the command of Emperor Augustus, Joseph and Mary, awaiting the birth of baby Jesus, had to register. Since Joseph was a descendant of the family of David, he had to go to the town of David in Bethlehem, Judea, from Nazareth in Galilee. When Mary had to give birth during their journey, they could not find a room to stay. Jesus was born in a stall, wrapped in a cloth, and laid in a manger. Mary and Joseph did not expect to give birth there. Jesus came to the lowest place in the world as the Messiah, the King of Savior of human salvation, who is not the king who protects the Israelites from external aggression and leads them to victory. It was God’s surprising plan. I hope our children live each day with the wonderful gift of salvation from God and love one another in any situations.

이번 주일 아이들 설교말씀은 이사야를 통한 하나님의 계획입니다. 이사야 선지자가 활동하던 시기 유다왕국은 힘든 시간을 보내고 있었습니다. 히스기야 왕 때에 앗시리아의 공격에 의해 예루살렘이 포위되어 유다 왕국의 존폐가 달린 일도 있었습니다. 하지만 이사야는 그때마다 하나님의 계획과 뜻을 의지할 것을 이스라엘 백성들에게 호소하였습니다. 그는 어려운 시기에 하나님의 사람들에게 하나님만을 의지하며 나아갈 것을 말하였습니다. 또한 이사야는 빛으로 오실 구원자 예수님을 사람들에게 말하였습니다. 하나님께서는 700년 후 아기 예수님을 보내서 이 땅의 어두움을 걷으시고 구원의 빛을 우리에게 선물하셨습니다. 우리 아이들 또한 빛의 자녀가 되기를 소망합니다. 때때로 아이들이 어둠 가운데 있다고 느낄때에도 하나님의 계획을 신뢰하며 그 뜻을 날마다 구하는 아이들 되기를 소망합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday is about Isaiah talking about the Savior King. The kingdom of Judah was having a difficult time during the time of prophet Isaiah. When King Hezekiah ruled, Assyria attacked Jerusalem and surrounded the kingdom of Judah. Even during this difficult time, Isaiah encouraged God’s people to obey God’s law and follow His will. Isaiah also spoke about the Messiah, the savior who will come as the light. 700 years later, God sent baby Jesus. He defeated the darkness and gave us light. We hope our children become the children of light. Sometimes when our children feel that they are in the darkness, we hope they trust God’s plan and ask for God’s will every day.

이번 주일 아이들 설교말씀은 야곱과 에서 이야기 입니다. 이삭은 나이가 들어 앞을 보지 못하고, 그는 그의 삶의 마지막 순간이 다가오고 있음을 알았습니다. 그래서 그는 그의 장자 에서를 불러 자신을 위한 식사를 달라고 한 뒤에 자신의 복을 에서에게 물려주겠다고 하였습니다. 이를 들은 리브가는 에서가 아닌 야곱이 이삭의 축복을 받게 하고 싶었습니다. 그래서 리브가는 야곱에게 이삭을 속여 장자의 축복을 받게 하였습니다. 리브가는 이삭이 좋아하는 음식을 만들고 야곱의 몸에 염소의 털을 붙여 이삭이 야곱을 에서라고 속게 만들었습니다. 이삭은 야곱에게 축복을 하였고, 그 축복 안에는 이삭의 땅, 재물, 그리고 가문의 소유권 까지도 포함되어 있었습니다. 야곱은 축복을 받고 그 자리를 떠나고, 얼마 뒤 에서가 이삭을 위한 음식을 가지고 왔습니다. 뒤는게 자신의 축복이 야곱에게 간 사실을 알게 된 이삭은 에서에게 자신에게는 더 이상 축복이 남아있지 않다고 말하였습니다. 에서는 이에 화가나 야곱을 죽이려는 계획을 세웠고, 야곱이 죽는 것을 원치 않았던 이삭과 리브가는 야곱을 그들의 친척이 있는 곳으로 보냈습니다. 여정 가운데 야곱은 잠을 자려 한 곳에 머물렀고 그 밤 하나님은 야곱에 꿈에 나타나셔 아브라함과의 언약을 야곱과 함께 하겠다고 확인하셨습니다. 하나님께서는 장자권을 가볍게 여긴 에서 대신 야곱을 하나님의 계획의 통로로 사용하셨습니다. 우리 아이들도 야곱처럼 늘 하나님의 계획을 기대하고 신뢰하는 믿음의 아이들 되기를 기도합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday is about Jacob and Esau. As Isaac became older, he could not see and knew that the last minute of his life was coming. So he called his older son Esau to make a meal for him and planned to bless Esau before he die. However, Rebekah wanted Jacob to be blessed instead of Esau so that she cheated Isaac for Jacob to receive the blessing of the firstborn. Rebekah made the food that Isaac liked, and put the goat hair on Jacob’s body like Esau. Isaac blessed Jacob, which included Isaac’s land, his possessions, and family ownership. When Esau returned and brought food for Isaac, he recognized that his blessing had been given to Jacob. Esau was angry that there was no longer any blessing left for him and made a plan to kill Jacob. Isaac and Rebekah did not want Jacob to die and sent him to his relatives. During the journey, Jacob stopped to sleep, and God appeared to Jacob in his dreams and confirmed that He would be with Jacob and achieve the covenant God made with Abraham through Jacob. God used Jacob as the path of God’s plan instead of Esau who considered his birthright lightly. We pray that our children always become children of faith like Jacob who expected and trusted in God’s plan.

주님께서 이삭에게 나타나셔서, 말씀하셨다. “이집트로 가지 말아라. 내가 너에게 살라고 한 이 땅에서 살아라. 네가 이 땅에서 살아야, 내가 너를 보살피고, 너에게 복을 주겠다. 이 모든 땅을, 내가 너와 너의 자손에게 주겠다. 내가 너의 아버지 아브라함에게 맹세한 약속을 이루어서, 너의 자손이 하늘의 별처럼 많아지게 하고, 그들에게 이 땅을 다 주겠다. 이 세상 모든 민족이 네 씨의 덕을 입어서, 복을 받게 하겠다. 이것은, 아브라함이 나의 말에 순종하고, 나의 명령과 나의 계명과 나의 율례와 나의 법도를 잘 지켰기 때문이다.” (새번역)

이번 주일 아이들 설교말씀은 이삭을 향한 하나님의 약속 입니다. 하나님께서는 아브라함과의 언약을 통해 그의 자손들이 번성하여 하늘의 별처럼 셀 수 없을 만큼 많은 수가 되게 하겠다고 약속하셨습니다. 아브라함은 하나님의 약속을 항상 신뢰하였고 이삭을 그 선물로 얻게 되었습니다. 이삭 또한 아브라함과 하나님의 언약을 항상 신뢰하며 하나님 앞에 순종하는 삶을 살았습니다. 하나님께서는 아브라함의 자손인 이삭을 통하여 그 언약을 성취하기 원하셨고 이삭에게 복을 주시어 그 축복의 통로로 사용하셨습니다. 하나님께서는 이삭에게 큰 부유함을 허락하셨고 또한 두 아들 에서와 야곱을 약속의 징표로 삼으셨습니다. 하나님은 이삭에게도 하나님께서 약속하신 땅에 거하라고 말씀하셨고, 이삭은 순종하여 주님이 허락하신 땅에 머물렀습니다. 이삭은 늘 하나님 앞에 순종 하였고, 하나님은 언제나 이삭과 함께 하셨습니다. 우리 아이들도 이삭과 같은 믿음으로 늘 하나님 앞에 순종하고 하나님의 뜻을 따르기를 기도합니다. 예수님께서 다시 오시겠다는 말씀을 믿고 늘 기대하는 마음으로 주님 앞에 살아가기를 소망합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday is about God’s Promise for Isaac. God promised Abraham that his descendants will grow and be as many as the stars in the sky. He always trusted God and got his son Isaac as a gift from God. Isaac also trusted God’s covenant with Abraham and obeyed before God. God wanted to achieve the covenant through Isaac and used him as a path of God’s blessing. God gave Isaac great wealth, and also two sons Esau and Jacob. When God told him to dwell in the land God promised, he followed. Isaac always obeyed God, and God was always with him. We pray that our children are always willing to obey God and follow God’s will by faith like Isaac. Jesus promised to come back to us again, and I hope our children live with that promise everyday.
