본문말씀: 창세기 (Genesis 24:2-4)

아브라함이 자기 집 모든 소유를 맡아 보는 늙은 종에게 말하였다. “너의 손을 나의 다리 사이에 넣어라. 나는 네가, 하늘의 하나님, 땅의 하나님이신 주님을 두고서 맹세하기를 바란다. 너는 나의 아들의 아내가 될 여인을, 내가 살고 있는 이 곳 가나안 사람의 딸들에게서 찾지 말고, 나의 고향, 나의 친척이 사는 곳으로 가서, 거기에서 나의 아들 이삭의 아내 될 사람을 찾겠다고 나에게 맹세하여라.” (새번역)

Abraham said to his servant, the oldest of his house, who had charge of all that he had, “Put your hand under my thigh and I will make you swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and earth, that you will not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I live, but will go to my country and to my kindred and get a wife for my son Isaac.” (New Revised Standard Version)

이번 주일 아이들 설교말씀은 이삭과 리브가의 이야기 입니다. 이삭이 장성함에 따라 아브라함은 이삭의 아내가 될 여인을 찾고자 하였습니다. 아브라함은 그가 신뢰하는 하인을 불러 아브라함의 고향으로 가 이삭의 아내가 될 여인을 찾으라고 부탁하였습니다. 그의 하인은 그가 이삭의 아내를 찾지 못하면 어떡하나 걱정하는 마음을 아브라함에게 말했지만 아브라함은 하나님께서 자신에게 하신 언약을 신뢰하며 하나님께서 이삭의 아내를 주시리라 믿었습니다. 아브라함의 하인은 낙타 열 마리와 함께 주인이 준 온갖 선물을 싣고 길을 떠났습니다. 그 종은 마침내 아브라함이 말한 곳에 도착해 한 우물에 다다랐습니다. 그 종은 하나님께 이삭의 아내가 될 여인을 만나게 해달라고 기도하였습니다. 그 때에 우물에서 자신과 자신의 낙타에게 물을 준 리브가를 만나게 되었고 아브라함의 하인은 리브가가 이삭을 위한 여인임을 알았습니다. 그 하인은 리브가의 집으로 가서 리브가의 가족들에게 이삭을 위한 아내가 될 것을 요청하였고 리브가와 그 가족들은 하나님의 하실 일에 기대하며 이를 승낙하였습니다. 다음날 리브가는 자신의 집을 떠나 이삭이 머물고 있는 곳으로 떠났고 리브가를 맞이한 이삭은 리브가와 결혼을 하고 행복한 가정을 이뤘습니다. 이삭과 이브가의 결혼의 이야기는 하나님께서 아브라함에게 약속하신 언약의 출발이자 예수 그리스도까지의 족보의 시작이었습니다. 이삭과 리브가가 하나님을 신뢰하며 그 삶을 살아갔듯 우리 아이들 또한 늘 하나님의 계획과 인도하심을 신뢰하며 나아가기를 기도합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday is about the story of Isaac and Rebekah. When Abraham was old, Abraham wanted to find a wife for Isaac. He called his trusted servant and sent him to Abraham’s hometown to find a woman to be Isaac’s wife. The servant was worried if he could not find anyone, but Abraham trusted God’s help and promise for him. Abraham’s servant took ten camels and walked away with all the gifts his master gave him. The servant finally reached the place and came to a well. There, he met Rebekah, who watered both the servant and his camels from the well, and knew that Rebekah was the woman for Isaac. The servant went to Rebekah’s house and asked her and the family to become the wife of Isaac, and they accepted, believing in God’s plan for her. Rebekah departed from her house the next day to the place where Isaac lived. Isaac married Rebekah and had a happy family. The story about the marriage of Isaac and Rebekah was the beginning of the covenant God promised Abraham and the genealogy of Jesus Christ. Just as Isaac and Rebekah lived with trust in God, we also pray that our children always trust God’s plan and guidance for them.

이런 일이 있은 지 얼마 뒤에, 하나님이 아브라함을 시험해 보시려고, 그를 부르셨다. “아브라함아!” 하고 부르시니, 아브라함은 “예, 여기에 있습니다” 하고 대답하였다. 하나님이 말씀하셨다. “너의 아들, 네가 사랑하는 외아들 이삭을 데리고 모리아 땅으로 가거라. 내가 너에게 일러주는 산에서 그를 번제물로 바쳐라.” (새번역)

After these things God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” He said, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains that I shall show you.” (New Revised Standard Version)

이번 주일 아이들 설교말씀은 아브라함과 이삭 이야기입니다. 어느 날 하나님께서는 아브라함을 부르시고 백세에 주신 그의 아들 이삭을 번제물로 드리라고 명령하셨습니다. 하나님 말씀에 순종하여 아브라함은 다음 날 아침 그의 아들 이삭과 그의 두 종 그리고 나귀에 번제를 위한 준비물을 싣고 하나님이 말씀하신 모리아 산으로 떠났습니다. 삼일 동안의 여정을 거쳐 아브라함과 이삭은 하나님께서 말씀하신 산에 도착했고 아브라함은 두 명의 하인들을 산 밑에 둔 채 오직 이삭과 번제를 위한 준비물만 가지고 산에 올랐습니다. 이삭은 번제를 위한 양이 없는 것을 이상히 여기고 아브라함에게 물었지만 아브라함은 하나님께서 준비하실 것이라는 대답을 하였습니다. 제단을 쌓고 아브라함은 아들 이삭을 제단 위에 올리고 그를 희생물로 바치려 하였습니다. 그 순간 주님의 천사가 아브라함을 불러 멈추게 하였고 천사는 아브라함에게 너의 믿음을 확인하였으니 아들 이삭 대신 희생물이 될 양을 공급하셨습니다. 그리고 주님의 천사는 아브라함에게 다시 한 번 하나님께서 하신 언약(아브라함을 향한 하나님의 복)을 재확인 하였습니다. 아브라함과 이삭의 이야기와 같이 하나님께서는 자신의 독생자 예수 그리스도를 이 땅에 보내시고 그의 십자가 지심을 통해 우리에게 영원한 하나님 나라를 선물하셨습니다. 예수 그리스도의 대속을 통해 우리는 죄 사함을 받고 새로운 삶으로 초대되었습니다. 우리 아이들도 아브라함과 같이 자신이 가장 소중히 여기는 것까지 하나님께 기꺼이 내어드릴 수 있는 믿음의 자녀들 되기를 소망합니다. 날마다 하나님의 말씀에 순종하고 성령님의 인도하심을 따라 살아가는 주님의 자녀 되기를 기도합니다.

The sermon for this week is about the story of Abraham and Isaac. One day, God called Abraham and ordered him to give Isaac as a sacrifice. In obedience, Abraham left his home the next morning with his son Isaac, his two servants, a donkey and preparations for the burnt offering. After three days of journey, they arrived at the mountain. However, only Abraham and Isaac climbed the mountain with the prepared offering. Isaac thought something was missing and asked where the sheep for the offering was, but Abraham replied that God would prepare it. They built an altar, and Abraham put his son Isaac on the altar and tried to sacrifice him. At the moment, the angel of the Lord called Abraham to stop, confirmed his faith, and supplied a lamb for sacrifice instead of his son Isaac. The angel reaffirmed Abraham the covenant of God (God’s blessing for Abraham). God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross so that we can have eternal life through Him. He sent Jesus to take away our sins. When we believe in Jesus, God forgives our sins and gives us new life. We hope that our children become the children of faith who are willing to offer God even what they value the most. We pray that our children obey the Word of God everyday and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

제목: 아브라함을 향한 하나님의 약속 God’s Covenant with Abraham
본문말씀: 창세기 (Genesis 12:1-3)

주님께서 아브람에게 말씀하셨다. “너는, 네가 살고 있는 땅과, 네가 난 곳과, 너의 아버지의 집을 떠나서, 내가 보여 주는 땅으로 가거라.  내가 너로 큰 민족이 되게 하고, 너에게 복을 주어서, 네가 크게 이름을 떨치게 하겠다. 너는 복의 근원이 될 것이다. 너를 축복하는 사람에게는 내가 복을 베풀고, 너를 저주하는 사람에게는 내가 저주를 내릴 것이다. 땅에 사는 모든 민족이 너로 말미암아 복을 받을 것이다.” (새번역)

Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (New Revised Standard Version) 

이번 주일 아이들 말씀은 아브라함을 향한 하나님의 언약의 이야기 입니다. 노아의 후손인 아브람에게 하나님은 그가 거주하고 땅을 떠나 하나님이 보여줄 땅으로 가라고 명령하셨습니다. 하나님께서는 아브람에게 큰 민족을 이루고 복을 주어 아브람의 이름을 창대하게 하신다 말씀하셨습니다. 이에 아브람은 믿음으로 그 말씀을 따랐고, 그는 가족과 모든 소유물을 가지고 떠났습니다. 아브라함이 하란 땅을 떠날 때에 그의 나이는 75세였습니다. 하나님께서는 또한 아브람에게 하늘의 별처럼 셀 수 없을 만큼의 민족을 그를 통해 이루시겠다는 약속을 하셨습니다. 아브람은 언제나 하나님의 약속을 신뢰하였고 어디를 가나 하나님의 말씀에 순종하고 하나님께 제사(예배)를 드렸습니다. 많은 시간 그에겐 자식이 생기지 않았지만 그럼에도 아브람은 여전히 하나님을 신뢰하였습니다. 아브람의 나이 99세에 하나님께서는 아브람의 이름을 아브라함이라(여러 민족의 아버지) 바꾸셨고, 그의 아내 사래의 이름 또한 사라로 바꾸셨습니다. 마침내 그가 100세가 되던 해에 하나님께서는 아브라함에게 아들을 이삭을 주셨습니다. 하나님께서는 아브라함에게 한 약속을 잊지 않으시고 그를 통해 많은 민족을 이루도록 허락하셨습니다. 우리 아이들 또한 아브라함처럼 하나님을 신뢰하고 다시 오실 예수님을 날마다 기대하는 믿음의 자녀들이 되기를 기도합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday is about God’s Covenant with Abraham. God commanded Abram, the descendant of Noah, to leave the land where he dwelt and go to the land that God would show. God promised Abram that God would make him a great nation, bless him, and make his name great. God also promised him that his nation would multiply like stars in the sky. Abram followed the words by faith and left his family and all his possessions. He was 75 years old when he left Haran. He always trusted God’s promises, obeyed, and worshiped God wherever he went. At the age of 99, God changed Abram’s name to Abraham (the father of nations), and Sarai, his wife, to Sarah. When he was 100 years old, God gave Isaac to Abraham. God did not forget the promise he made to Abraham and allowed him to make many nations. We pray that our children also trust God like how Abraham did and become the children of faith who long for Jesus everyday.

제목: 욥의 고난 The Suffering of Job
본문말씀: 욥기 (Job 1:8)

주님께서 사탄에게 말씀하셨다. “너는 내 종 욥을 잘 살펴 보았느냐? 이 세상에는 그 사람만큼 흠이 없고 정직한 사람, 그렇게 하나님을 경외하며 악을 멀리하는 사람은 없다.” (새번역)

The Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man who fears God and turns away from evil.” (New Revised Standard Version)

이번 주일 아이들 설교말씀은 욥의 고난 이야기 입니다. 욥은 하나님 보시기에 의로운 자였고 하나님의 뜻을 구하는 사람이었습니다. 사탄은 하나님께 다가와 욥의 믿음이 하나님의 축복 때문이라 말하며, 그가 가진 모든 것을 읽게 된다면 하나님을 따르지 않을 것이라고 하였습니다. 이에 하나님께서는 사탄에게 욥의 믿음을 시험해 보도록 허락하셨고 사탄은 욥이 가진 모든 것을 빼앗았고 심지어 온 몸에 피부병(종기)을 걸리게 하였고, 욥은 고통 가운데 자신의 고통의 원인을 알고자 하였습니다. 비록 욥은 자신의 고통의 이유조차 알 지 못했지만 그럼에도 불구하고 자신의 삶 가운데 하나님의 뜻을 믿으며 견뎠습니다. 마침내 사탄의 시험에서 욥은 승리하였고 하나님께서는 욥에게서 거두어 가셨던 모든 것들을 돌려주셨습니다. 또한 욥은 그의 고통을 통하여 하나님의 뜻은 인간의 생각을 초월하시고 하나님만이 창조의 주인 되심을 배웠습니다. 우리 아이들아 어려움을 마주하더라도 다른 방법이 아닌 하나님을 찾고 하나님의 뜻을 구하는 믿음의 아이들 되기를 기도합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday is about the story of Job. Job was a righteous man before God and asked for God’s will. Satan came to God and said that if Job lost everything he has, he would not follow God. God allowed Satan to test Job’s faith and Satan took away everything Job had. Satan even gave an illness to Job, and Job had to suffer from a skin disease. Job wanted to know why he had suffered. Even though Job could not know the reason, Job endured with the trust of God’s will. Finally, Job won from the test of Satan and God gave back everything Job lost. Through the suffering, Job learned that God’s will is beyond his thought and God is the only creator of the world. We pray for our children to be children of faith who seek God’s will, even if they face difficulties.

제목: 바벨탑 이야기 The Tower of Babel
본문말씀: 창세기 (Genesis 11:6-8)

여호와께서 이르시되 이 무리가 한 족속이요 언어도 하나이므로 이같이 시작하였으니 이 후로는 그 하고자 하는 일을 막을 수 없으리로다. 자, 우리가 내려가서 거기서 그들의 언어를 혼잡하게 하여 그들이 서로 알아듣지 못하게 하자 하시고 여호와께서 거기서 그들을 온 지면에 흩으셨으므로 그들이 그 도시를 건설하기를 그쳤더라. (새번역)

And the Lord said, “Look, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do; nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. Come, let us go down, and confuse their language there, so that they will not understand one another’s speech.” So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city. (New Revised Standard Version)

이번 주일 아이들 설교말씀은 바벨탑 이야기입니다. 노아의 홍수 이후 하나님께서는 노아와 그의 아들들에게 복을 주시고 이 땅에서 새로운 삶을 허락하셨습니다. 하지만 여러 세대가 지난 뒤에 노아의 자손들 역시 하나님 섬기기를 멈추었습니다. 그들은 정착한 땅에 마을을 만들고 탑을 세워 그 꼭대기가 하늘에 닿게 하여 그들의 이름이 하나님과 같이 되기를 원하는 죄를 범하였습니다. 이를 지켜보신 하나님께서는 하나였던 그들의 언어를 혼잡하게 하여 그들이 서로 알아듣지 못하게 하셨습니다. 그들은 말이 통하지 않아 결국 바벨탑을 짓는 것을 포기하게 되었고 각자의 언어대로 흩어져 살게 되었습니다. 복잡하고 혼란한 세상 가운데 우리 아이들이 노아와 같은 믿음으로 하나님 앞에 의로운 자녀가 되기를 소망합니다. 아이들이 하나님 앞에 순종하며 주님을 찬양하고 이웃을 사랑하는 믿음의 자녀 되기를 기도합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday is the story about the Tower of Babel. After the great flood, God blessed Noah and his family and allowed new life in the world. However, several generations later, Noah’s descendants also stopped following God. They created a village in the land they had settled down and began to build a tower. They tried to build the tower so high as if it would reach the sky and make their names be like God. God saw their sins and confused their language so that they could not understand each other. They eventually had to stop building the Tower of Babel and scattered all around the world. In this complex and confused world, we hope that our children would become righteous children who glorify God like Noah did. We pray that our children obey God and become children of faith who praise the Lord and love their neighbors.
