베드로전서 5:1-6

1 제가 이제 같은 장로로서 교회의 장로들에게 몇 마디 당부합니다. 그리스도께서 당하신 고난을 직접 보았고, 장차 우리에게 나타날 영광에 동참하게 될 자로서, 여러분에게 부탁을 드립니다.
2 여러분에게 맡겨진 하나님의 양 떼를 잘 돌보십시오. 기쁨으로 그들을 돌보며 억지로 하지 마십시오. 그것이 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 것입니다. 기쁨으로 섬기며, 돈을 생각하고 그 일을 하지 않도록 하십시오.
3 여러분이 맡은 사람들을 지배하려 들지 말며, 그들에게 좋은 모범이 되십시오.
4 그리하면 우리의 목자장이신 그리스도께서 오실 때에 여러분은 결코 시들지 않는 영광의 면류관을 받게 될 것입니다.
5 젊은이들은 웃어른께 순종하며 겸손하십시오. “하나님은 교만한 사람을 물리치시고, 겸손한 사람에게 은혜를 베푸십니다.”
6 그러므로 하나님의 전능하신 손 아래 자신을 낮추십시오. 그러면 하나님께서는 때가 이를 때에 여러분을 높이실 것입니다.

1 And now, a word to you who are elders in the churches. I, too, am an elder and a witness to the sufferings of Christ. And I, too, will share in his glory when he is revealed to the whole world. As a fellow elder, I appeal to you.
2 Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly – not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.
3 Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example.
4 And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor.
5 In the same way, you younger men must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, serve each other in humility, for “God opposes the proud but favors the humble.”① / ①Prov 3.34 (Greek version)
6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Continue reading →
