Unless You Repent, You Will Perish

누가복음 13:1-9

1 어떤 사람들이 예수님께 와서, 빌라도가 갈릴리 사람들을 죽여 그 피가 저희의 드릴 희생 제물과 뒤범벅이 되었다는 소식을 전해 주었습니다.
2 예수님께서는 그들에게 대답하셨습니다. “너희는 이 갈릴리 사람들이 이런 고난을 당했다고 해서 다른 갈릴리 사람들보다 더 큰 죄인이라고 생각하느냐?
3 그렇지 않다. 내가 너희에게 말한다. 너희도 회개하지 않으면 이와 같이 망할 것이다.
4 또 실로암 탑이 무너져 죽은 열여덟 명의 사람들이 예루살렘에 사는 다른 모든 사람보다 더 악한 죄인이라고 생각하느냐?
5 그렇지 않다! 내가 너희에게 말한다. 너희도 회개하지 않으면 이와 같이 망할 것이다.”
6 예수님께서 이런 비유를 말씀하셨습니다. “어떤 사람이 무화과나무 한 그루를 자신의 포도밭에 심었다. 그는 이 나무에서 열매를 얻으려고 왔으나 아무것도 찾지 못했다.
7 그 사람이 포도원을 돌보는 종에게 말했다. ‘내가 삼 년 동안, 이 무화과나무에서 열매를 찾았는데, 아무것도 찾을 수 없었다. 이 나무를 찍어 버려라. 무엇 때문에 땅만 차지하게 하느냐?’
8 종이 주인에게 대답했다. ‘주인님, 올해만 그냥 놔 두십시오. 제가 나무 주위에 고랑을 파고 거름을 주겠습니다.
9 만일 내년에 열매를 맺으면 놔 두시고, 열매를 맺지 못한다면 베어 버리십시오.’”

1 About this time Jesus was informed that Pilate had murdered some people from Galilee as they were offering sacrifices at the Temple.
2 “Do you think those Galileans were worse sinners than all the other people from Galilee?” Jesus asked. “Is that why they suffered?
3 Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God.
4 And what about the eighteen people who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them? Were they the worst sinners in Jerusalem?
5 No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too.”
6 Then Jesus told this story： “A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there was any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed.
7 Finally, he said to his gardener, `I’ve waited three years, and there hasn’t been a single fig! Cut it down. It’s just taking up space in the garden.’
8 “The gardener answered, `Sir, give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I’ll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer.
9 If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down.'”

1 그 때에 아구스도 황제가 내린 칙령에 따라 온 나라가 호적 등록을 하게 되었습니다.
2 이것은 구레뇨가 시리아의 총독으로 있을 때 행한 첫 번째 호적 등록이었습니다.
3 그래서 모든 사람들이 호적을 등록하러 고향으로 가게 되었습니다.
4 요셉도 다윗 가문의 자손이었으므로 갈릴리 나사렛을 떠나 유대 지방에 있는 다윗의 마을로 갔습니다. 이 마을은 베들레헴이라고 불렸습니다.
5 그는 약혼한 마리아와 함께 호적을 등록하러 갔습니다. 마리아는 그 때에 임신 중이었습니다.
6 이들이 베들레헴에 있는 동안 아기를 낳을 때가 되었습니다.
7 마리아는 마구간에서 첫아들을 낳아 포대기에 싸서 구유에 눕혀 두었습니다. 그것은 여관에 이들이 들어갈 빈방이 없었기 때문입니다.
8 그 근처 들판에서 목자들이 밤에 양 떼를 지키고 있었습니다.
9 주님의 천사가 갑자기 이들 앞에 나타났습니다. 주님의 영광이 그들을 둘러 비추자, 이들은 몹시 두려워하였습니다.
10 천사가 그들에게 말했습니다. “두려워 마라. 보아라. 모든 백성을 위한 큰 기쁨의 소식을 가지고 왔다.
11 오늘 다윗의 마을에 너희를 위하여 구세주께서 태어나셨다. 그는 곧 그리스도 주님이시다.
12 포대기에 싸여 구유에 누워 있는 아기를 볼 것인데, 이것이 너희에게 주는 증거이다.”
13 갑자기 그 천사와 함께 많은 하늘 군대가 나타나 하나님을 찬양하였습니다.
14 “높은 곳에서는 하나님께 영광, 땅에서는 하나님께서 기뻐하시는 사람들에게 평화.”

1 At that time the Roman emperor, Augustus, decreed that a census should be taken throughout the Roman Empire.
2 (This was the first census taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria)
3 All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for this census.
4 And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David’s ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee.
5 He took with him Mary, his fiancee, who was now obviously pregnant.
6 And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born.
7 She gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.
8 That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep.
9 Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified,
10 but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.
11 The Savior- yes, the Messiah, the Lord- has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!
12 And you will recognize him by this sign： You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others?the armies of heaven?praising God and saying,

요한복음 1:9-14

9 참 빛이 있었습니다. 그 빛은 세상에 와서 모든 사람을 비췄습니다.
10 참 빛이 되신 말씀이 세상에 계셨습니다. 세상은 그분을 통하여 지음을 받았는데도, 그분을 알지 못하였습니다.
11 그분은 자기의 땅에 오셨으나, 그의 백성들은 그분을 영접하지 않았습니다.
12 그러나 누구든지 그분을 영접하는 사람들, 그분의 이름을 믿는 사람들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 자격을 주셨습니다.
13 좋은 가문에 태어난 사람들만 하나님의 자녀가 되는 것이 아닙니다. 또한 어떤 사람들의 계획이나 바람에 의해서, 그리고 그들의 조상으로 말미암아 하나님의 자녀가 된 것도 아닙니다. 다만, 그들은 하나님 자신이 그들의 아버지라는 사실 때문에 하나님의 자녀가 된 것입니다.
14 말씀이 사람이 되셔서, 우리 가운데에서 사셨습니다. 우리는 그분의 영광을 보았습니다. 그 영광은 오직 아버지의 독생자만이 가질 수 있는 영광이었습니다. 그 말씀은 은혜와 진리로 충만해 있었습니다.

9 The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.
10 He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him.
11 He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.
12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
13 They are reborn?not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.

마가복음 1:1-11

1 하나님의 아들이신 예수 그리스도의 복음은 이렇게 시작되었습니다.
2 이사야 예언자의 글에 이렇게 쓰여 있습니다. “보아라. 내가 네 앞에 사자를 보낸다. 그가 네 길을 준비할 것이다.”
3 “광야에서 외치는 자의 목소리가 들린다. ‘주님의 길을 준비하여라. 그분의 길을 곧게 펴라.’”
4 세례자 요한이 광야에 나타나서 죄 용서를 위한 회개의 세례를 선포하였습니다.
5 그래서 온 유대 지방 사람들과 예루살렘 사람들이 요한에게 나아갔습니다. 그들은 자신들이 지은 죄를 고백하고, 요단 강에서 요한에게 세례를 받았습니다.
6 요한은 낙타털로 만든 옷을 입고, 허리에는 가죽띠를 띠고, 메뚜기와 들꿀을 먹었습니다.
7 요한은 사람들에게 이렇게 선포하였습니다. “나보다 더 강하신 분이 내 뒤에 오신다. 나는 그분 앞에 꿇어앉아 그분의 신발 끈을 풀기에도 부족하다.
8 나는 너희에게 물로 세례를 주지만 그분은 너희에게 성령으로 세례를 베푸실 것이다.”
9 그 때, 예수님께서 갈릴리에 있는 나사렛 마을에서 요단 강으로 오셔서, 요한에게 세례를 받으셨습니다.
10 예수님께서 물에서 나오실 때, 하늘이 열리는 것을 보셨습니다. 그리고 성령님께서 비둘기처럼 자신에게 내려오는 것을 보셨습니다.
11 하늘에서 “너는 내 사랑하는 아들이다. 내가 너로 말미암아 매우 기쁘다”라고 말하는 소리가 들렸습니다.

3 He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, `Prepare the way for the LORD’s coming! Clear the road for him!’①” / ①Isa 40.3 (Greek version)
4 This messenger was John the Baptist. He was in the wilderness and preached that people should be baptized to show that they had repented of their sins and turned to God to be forgiven.
5 All of Judea, including all the people of Jerusalem, went out to see and hear John. And when they confessed their sins, he baptized them in the Jordan River.
6 His clothes were woven from coarse camel hair, and he wore a leather belt around his waist. For food he ate locusts and wild honey.
7 John announced： “Someone is coming soon who is greater than I am – so much greater that I’m not even worthy to stoop down like a slave and untie the straps of his sandals.
8 I baptize you with① water, but he will baptize you with② the Holy Spirit!” / ①Or in ②Or in
9 One day Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and John baptized him in the Jordan River.
10 As Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens splitting apart and the Holy Spirit descending on him① like a dove. / ①Or toward him, or into him

데살로니카전서 5:14-24

14 게으른 자들을 훈계하고, 마음이 약한 자들을 격려해 주십시오. 힘이 없는 자들을 도우며, 모든 사람을 인내로 대하십시오.
15 악으로 악을 갚지 말고, 서로 모든 사람에게 선을 베풀도록 힘쓰십시오.
16 항상 즐거워하십시오.
17 쉬지 말고 기도하십시오.
18 모든 일에 감사하십시오. 이것이 그리스도 예수 안에서 여러분을 향한 하나님의 뜻입니다.
19 성령께서 일하시는 것을 막지 말고,
20 예언의 말씀을 하찮게 생각하지 마십시오.
21 모든 일을 잘 살펴서 선한 것을 붙잡고,
22 악한 것을 멀리하기 바랍니다.
23 평안의 하나님께서 여러분을 깨끗하게 하셔서 하나님께 속한 자로 지켜 주시며, 여러분의 온몸, 즉 영과 혼과 육신 모두를 우리 주 예수 그리스도께서 오실 그 날까지 아무 흠 없이 지켜 주시기를 기도합니다.
24 여러분을 부르신 그분은 신실하시기 때문에 이 일을 반드시 이루실 것입니다. (쉬운성경)

14 Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone.
15 See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people.
16 Always be joyful.
17 Never stop praying.
18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
19 Do not stifle the Holy Spirit.
20 Do not scoff at prophecies,
21 but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good.
22 Stay away from every kind of evil.
23 Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.
