Stop Doubting And Believe

요한복음 20:19-29

19 같은 날 저녁에, 제자들이 함께 모여 있었습니다. 제자들은 유대인들이 두려워 문을 꼭 잠갔습니다. 그 곳에 예수님께서 오셔서 그들 가운데 서서 말씀하셨습니다. “너희에게 평강이 있을지어다!”
20 이 말씀을 하시고는 제자들에게 손과 옆구리를 보이셨습니다. 제자들은 주님을 보자 무척 기뻐했습니다.
21 다시, 예수님께서는 “너희에게 평강이 있을지어다! 아버지께서 나를 보내신 것같이 나도 너희를 보낸다”라고 말씀하셨습니다.
22 이 말씀을 하시고, 그들을 향해 숨을 내쉬며 말씀하셨습니다. “성령을 받아라.
23 너희가 누구의 죄든지 용서하면, 그 죄는 사함을 받을 것이다. 너희가 누구의 죄든지 용서하지 않으면, 그 죄는 사함을 받지 못할 것이다.”
24 열두 제자 중에서 디두모라는 별명을 가진 도마는 예수님께서 오셨을 때, 다른 제자들이 있던 그 자리에 없었습니다.
25 그래서 다른 제자들이 도마에게 “우리가 주님을 보았다”라고 말했습니다. 그러자 도마는 “내가 직접 예수님 손에 있는 못 자국을 보고, 내 손가락을 그분의 못박힌 곳에 찔러 보고, 내 손을 그의 옆구리에 넣어 보기 전에는 못 믿겠다”고 말했습니다.
26 일 주일 뒤에 예수님의 제자들이 다시 그 집에 있었습니다. 이번에는 도마도 그들과 함께 있었습니다. 이 때도 문은 잠겨 있었습니다. 예수님께서는 안으로 들어오셔서 그들 가운데 서서 말씀하셨습니다. “너희에게 평강이 있을지어다!”
27 그리고는 도마에게 말씀하셨습니다. “네 손가락을 여기에 찔러 보아라. 내 손을 보아라. 네 손을 내밀어 내 옆구리에 넣어 보아라. 그리고 믿지 않는 자가 되지 말고 믿는 자가 되어라.”
28 도마는 예수님께 “나의 주님, 나의 하나님!”이라고 외쳤습니다.
29 예수님께서 도마에게 말씀하셨습니다. “너는 나를 보았기 때문에 믿느냐? 나를 보지 않고 믿는 사람들은 복이 있다.”

19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”
20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
23 If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
24 Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came.
25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it.”
26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”
27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (NIV) Continue reading →

1 여호와, 우리의 주님이시여! 주님의 이름이 온 땅에 어찌 그리 장엄한지요? 주님께서 하늘 위에 주님의 찬란한 영광을 두셨습니다.
2 주님께서는 어린이들과 젖 먹는 아기들이 주님께 찬양을 올리도록 하셨습니다. 주님께 대항하는 원수들과 적들과 보복하려는 자들을 침묵시키기 위해서입니다.
3 주님의 하늘을 바라봅니다. 주님의 손가락으로 지으신 하늘을 생각해 봅니다. 주님께서 하늘에 자리를 정해 준 달과 별들을 생각해 봅니다
4 사람이 무엇이기에 주님께서는 사람을 돌보아 주시는지요?
5 주님께서는 사람을 천사보다 조금 못하게 지으시고, 그 머리에 영광과 존엄의 왕관을 씌우셨습니다.
6 주님께서 만드신 모든 것을 사람이 다스리게 하시고, 모든 것들을 사람에게 맡기셨습니다.
7 모든 양 떼들과 소 떼들, 그리고 들판의 짐승들,
8 하늘을 나는 온갖 새들과 바닷속에 사는 모든 것들을 다스리게 하셨습니다.
9 여호와, 우리 주여 주의 이름이 온 땅에 어찌 그리 장엄한지요?. (쉬운성경)

6 You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority –

12 예수님께서 그들에게 “와서 아침 식사를 하여라” 하고 말씀하셨지만, 제자들은 그분이 주님이신 줄 알았기 때문에 제자들 중에 감히 “당신은 누구십니까?”라고 묻는 사람이 없었습니다.
13 예수님께서는 가셔서 빵을 가져다가 제자들에게 주셨고, 생선도 주셨습니다.
14 이것은 예수님께서 죽은 자 가운데서 살아나신 후, 그의 제자들에게 세 번째 나타나신 것이었습니다.
15 그들이 식사를 다 마쳤을 때, 예수님께서 시몬 베드로에게 말씀하셨습니다. “요한의 아들 시몬아, 네가 이 모든 사람들보다 나를 더 사랑하느냐?” 베드로가 대답했습니다. “예, 주님. 제가 주님을 사랑한다는 것을 주님께서 아십니다.” 예수님께서 말씀하셨습니다. “내 양을 먹여라.”
16 다시 예수님께서 베드로에게 말씀하셨습니다. “요한의 아들 시몬아, 네가 나를 사랑하느냐?” 베드로가 대답했습니다. “예, 주님. 제가 주님을 사랑하는 줄을 주님께서 아십니다.” 예수님께서 말씀하셨습니다. “내 양을 돌보아라.”
17 세 번째로 예수님께서 베드로에게 말씀하셨습니다. “요한의 아들 시몬아, 네가 나를 사랑하느냐?” 예수님께서 자기에게 세 번씩이나 “네가 나를 사랑하느냐?”고 물으셨기 때문에 베드로는 거의 울상이 되었습니다. 그리고는 예수님께 대답했습니다. “주님, 주님께서는 모든 것을 아십니다. 제가 주님을 사랑하는 것도 주님께서는 알고 계십니다.” 예수님께서 베드로에게 말씀하셨습니다. “내 양을 먹여라.
18 내가 너에게 진리를 말한다. 네가 젊었을 때는 네 혼자 힘으로 옷도 입고 네가 원하는 곳으로 갔지만, 나이가 들게 되면 네가 팔을 벌리겠고 다른 사람이 네게 옷을 입힐 것이며, 다른 사람이 네가 원하지 않는 곳으로 너를 데려갈 것이다.”
19 예수님께서 이렇게 말씀하신 것은 베드로가 어떤 죽음으로 하나님께 영광을 돌리게 될지를 보여 주시려는 것이었습니다. 이 말씀을 하시고, 예수님께서는 베드로에게 “나를 따르라!”고 말씀하셨습니다.

12 “Now come and have some breakfast!” Jesus said. None of the disciples dared to ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord.
13 Then Jesus served them the bread and the fish.
14 This was the third time Jesus had appeared to his disciples since he had been raised from the dead.
15 After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?①” “Yes, Lord,” Peter replied, “you know I love you.” “Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him. / ①Or more than these others do?
16 Jesus repeated the question： “Simon son of John, do you love me?” “Yes, Lord,” Peter said, “you know I love you.” “Then take care of my sheep,” Jesus said.
17 A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep.
18 “I tell you the truth, when you were young, you were able to do as you liked; you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will dress you and take you where you don’t want to go.”
19 Jesus said this to let him know by what kind of death he would glorify God. Then Jesus told him, “Follow me.”

The Two Disciples On The Road To Emmaus

누가복음 24:13-27

13 그런데 그 날 제자들 중에 두 사람이 예루살렘에서 약 11킬로미터 정도 떨어진 엠마오라고 하는 마을로 내려가고 있었습니다.
14 이들은 일어났던 모든 일에 대해 이야기를 나누고 있었습니다.
15 이들이 이야기를 나누며 토론하고 있을 때, 예수님께서 그들에게 다가오셔서 함께 걸으셨습니다.
16 그러나 그들은 눈이 가리워져서 예수님인지 알지 못했습니다.
17 예수님께서 그들에게 물으셨습니다. “당신들이 걸어가면서 서로 주고받는 이야기가 무엇입니까?” 두 사람은 슬픈 기색을 하고 멈춰 섰습니다.
18 그 가운데 글로바라는 사람이 예수님께 대답했습니다. “당신은 예루살렘에 다녀오면서 최근에 무슨 일이 일어났는지 모른단 말이오?”
19 예수님께서 그들에게 물으셨습니다. “무슨 일입니까?” 제자들이 말했습니다. “나사렛 예수님에 관한 일인데, 그분은 하나님과 백성 앞에서 행동과 말씀에 능력이 있는 예언자이셨습니다.
20 그런데 대제사장들과 우리 지도자들이 그분을 죽게 넘겨 주어 십자가에 못박았습니다.
21 우리는 이스라엘을 구원할 분이 바로 그분이라고 기대했습니다. 뿐만 아니라 이 일이 일어난 지가 삼 일째입니다.
22 우리 중에 어떤 여자들이 우리를 놀라게 했습니다. 그들이 아침 일찍 무덤으로 갔지만
23 예수님의 시신을 보지 못하고 돌아와, 예수님께서 살아나셨다고 말하는 천사를 보았다고 했습니다.
24 우리와 함께 있던 사람들 중에 어떤 사람들이 무덤으로 달려갔는데, 그 여자들이 말한 대로였고, 예수님을 볼 수 없었다는 것입니다.”
25 그러자 예수님은 그들에게 말씀하셨습니다. “너희는 어리석고, 예언자들이 말한 것을 더디 믿는구나.
26 그리스도가 이 모든 고난을 받고 그의 영광에 들어가야 할 것이 아니겠느냐?”
27 예수님께서 모세로부터 시작하여 모든 예언자를 들어 예수님에 관한 성경 말씀을 제자들에게 설명해 주셨습니다.

13 That same day two of Jesus’ followers were walking to the village of Emmaus, seven miles① from Jerusalem. / ①Greek 60 stadia [11.1 kilometers]
14 As they walked along they were talking about everything that had happened.
15 As they talked and discussed these things, Jesus himself suddenly came and began walking with them.
16 But God kept them from recognizing him.
17 He asked them, “What are you discussing so intently as you walk along?” They stopped short, sadness written across their faces.
18 Then one of them, Cleopas, replied, “You must be the only person in Jerusalem who hasn’t heard about all the things that have happened there the last few days.”
19 “What things?” Jesus asked. “The things that happened to Jesus, the man from Nazareth,” they said. “He was a prophet who did powerful miracles, and he was a mighty teacher in the eyes of God and all the people.
20 But our leading priests and other religious leaders handed him over to be condemned to death, and they crucified him.
21 We had hoped he was the Messiah who had come to rescue Israel. This all happened three days ago.
22 “Then some women from our group of his followers were at his tomb early this morning, and they came back with an amazing report.
23 They said his body was missing, and they had seen angels who told them Jesus is alive!
24 Some of our men ran out to see, and sure enough, his body was gone, just as the women had said.”
25 Then Jesus said to them, “You foolish people! You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures.
26 Wasn’t it clearly predicted that the Messiah would have to suffer all these things before entering his glory?”
27 Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. Continue reading →

Make Them Holy By Your Truth

요한복음 17:9, 14-19

9 “나는 이 사람들을 위하여 간구합니다. 세상을 위하여 간구하는 것이 아니라 아버지께서 내게 맡기신 이 사람들을 위하여 간구합니다. 이 사람들은 아버지의 사람들입니다……
14 나는 이 사람들에게 아버지의 말씀을 전해 주었는데 세상은 이 사람들을 미워했습니다. 그것은 내가 이 세상에 속해 있지 않은 것처럼 이 사람들도 이 세상에 속해 있지 않기 때문입니다.
15 내가 아버지께 원하는 것은 그들을 이 세상에서 데려가시는 것이 아니라 악마에게서 지켜 주시는 일입니다.
16 내가 이 세상에 속하지 않은 것처럼 이 사람들도 이 세상에 속한 사람들이 아닙니다.
17 이 사람들이 진리를 위하여 몸을 바치는 사람들이 되게 하여 주십시오. 아버지의 말씀이 곧 진리입니다.
18 아버지께서 나를 세상에 보내신 것같이 나도 이 사람들을 세상에 보냈습니다.
19 내가 이 사람들을 위하여 이 몸을 아버지께 바치는 것은 이 사람들도 참으로 아버지께 자기 몸을 바치게 하려는 것입니다.”

9 “My prayer is not for the world, but for those you have given me, because they belong to you.
14 I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world.
15 I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.
16 They do not belong to this world any more than I do.
17 Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.
18 Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world.
19 And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth. Continue reading →
