마태복음 5:13-16

13 “너희는 세상의 소금이다. 만일 소금이 그 맛을 잃으면, 다시 짠맛을 가질 수 있겠느냐? 아무 쓸모가 없게 되어 밖에 버려져 사람들에게 밟힐 뿐이다.
14 너희는 세상의 빛이다. 산 위에 있는 도시는 숨겨질 수 없다.
15 등불을 됫박 안에 두지 않고 등잔대 위에 놓는다. 그래야 등불이 그 집에 있는 모든 사람에게 빛을 비추게 될 것이다.
16 이와 같이 너희 빛을 사람들에게 비춰라. 그래서 사람들이 너희의 선한 행동을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하여라.” (쉬운성경)
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.
14 “You are the light of the world – like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.
15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.
16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” (New Living Translation) Continue reading

요한복음 13:12-17

12 예수님께서는 제자들의 발을 다 씻기신 뒤에, 옷을 입고 다시 자리에 앉으셔서, 그들에게 이런 질문을 하셨습니다. “내가 방금 전에 너희에게 행한 일이 무슨 뜻으로 한 것인지 이해하겠느냐? 13 너희가 나를 ‘선생님’ 또는 ‘주님’이라고 부르는데, 너희 말이 맞다. 나는 바로 그런 사람이다. 14 내가 선생과 주로서 너희 발을 씻겼으니, 너희도 서로 발을 씻겨 주어야 한다.
15 내가 너희에게 행한 그대로 너희도 행하게 하기 위해 내가 본을 보여 준 것이다.
16 내가 너희에게 진리를 말한다. 종이 자기 주인보다 크지 못하고, 보냄을 받은 자가 그를 보낸 자보다 크지 못한 법이다.
17 너희가 이것을 알고 그대로 행하면 너희에게 복이 있을 것이다.” (쉬운성경)
12 After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, “Do you understand what I was doing?
13 You call me `Teacher’ and `Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am.
14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet.
15 I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.
16 I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message.
