이번 주일 아이들 설교말씀은 이스라엘의 열두 정탐꾼의 이야기 입니다. 이스라엘 민족은 이집트로부터 나와서 하나님께서 약속하신 땅에 거의 도착했습니다. 하나님께서는 모세에게 약속의 땅에 정탐꾼을 보내라고 하셨고 모세는 열 두 지파에서 한사람씩을 뽑아 열두 정탐꾼을 약속의 땅으로 보냈습니다. 모세는 그곳에 사는 사람들이 강한지 약한지, 많은지 적은지 등을 알아오라고 하였습니다. 약속의 땅에서 돌아온 정탐꾼들은 그 땅이 풍요롭다고 하였으나 한편으로 그곳에 사는 사람들은 키가 크고 강한 사람들이라고 하였습니다. 열명의 정탐꾼들은 그들이 하나님께서 약속하신 땅을 얻을 수 없을 것이라고 말하며 자신들이 이집트에서 나온것을 후회하였습니다. 그들의 부족들은 모세와 아론을 원망하며 다시 이집트로 돌아갈 지도자를 뽑자고 하였습니다. 하지만 갈렙과 여호수아는 하나님을 신뢰하며 하나님과 함께라면 이스라엘이 약속의 땅으로 들어갈 수 있다고 하였습니다. 이를 보신 하나님께서는 이스라엘에게 실망을 하셨고 오직 갈렙과 여호수아의 가문만 약속의 땅으로 들어갈 수 있도록 하셨습니다. 우리 아이들도 여호수아와 갈렙처럼 어려운 환경 속에 처하더라도 하나님을 의지하고 신뢰하는 믿음의 자녀들 되기를 기도합니다.

Today’s story is about the twelve scouts of Israel. Israelites who came out of Egypt arrived near the promised land. When God told Moses to send scouts into Canaan, he chose twelve scouts from twelve tribes of Israel. He asked them to see whether people were big or small, strong or weak. The scouts who came back to Moses reported that the land was plentiful, but people were too strong and tall. Ten scouts said they could not enter the promised land and regretted about leaving Egypt. Their tribes argued to choose a new leader to bring them back to Egypt. However, Caleb and Joshua trusted God that if God was with the Israel, they would go into the promised land. God saw Israel’s lack of faith, was disappointed, and only allowed Caleb and Joshua’s tribes to enter the promised land. We pray that our children become children of faith like Caleb and Joshua, who always obeyed and trusted God even when they faced difficult situations.

이번주일 아이들 말씀은 이스라엘 민족의 제사에 관한 이야기 입니다. 모세가 40일간 시내산에서 하나님과 동행하는 동안 하나님께서는 모세에게 하나님의 많은 법규들을 알려주셨습니다. 이 법들은 이스라엘이 하나님 앞에서 어떠한 삶이 거룩한 삶인지 알려주는 법들이었습니다. 장막 건설 이후 하나님은 모세와의 만남에서 그들의 속죄에 대한 방법을 알려주셨습니다. 일년에 한 번 속죄일에 대제사장은 염소 두 마리를 준비했습니다. 한 마리는 잡아 그 피를 성소에 묻히고, 다른 한 마리는 그 피를 머리 위에 묻히고 그 머리 위에 제사장의 손을 얹어 죄를 전달하여 광야로 보냈습니다. 이것은 이스라엘의 죄를 대신하여 지게 하는 속죄의 의미였습니다. 하나님께서는 이스라엘에게 경건의 삶을 요구하셨습니다. 이는 하나님께서 거룩하셨기 때문의 그의 자녀들인 이스라엘도 거룩해야 하기 때문입니다. 예수님이 이땅에 오시고 그의 십자가 지심으로 이스라엘 뿐만 아니라 우리 모두는 대속의 죄 사함을 얻었습니다. 우리 아이들이 예수 그리스도를 주로 고백하고 날마다 주님께 기도하는 믿음의 자녀들 되기를 기도합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday worship is about the sacrifice. When Moses was on Mount Sinai for forty days, God gave many laws to him. These laws showed people what it is like to live a holy life. After building the tabernacle, God taught Moses about the Day of Atonement. Atonement means making right what has been wrong. Once a year on the Day of Atonement, the highest priest prepared two goats. The priest killed one of them and spread the blood on the sanctuary. He put blood on the other goat’s head, put his hands, and transferred all the sins of the Israelites. Then, the goat was sent to the wilderness, which meant removing Israel’s sins. God asked the Israelites for a holy life because God was holy. Jesus came to this land as a sacrifice and died on the cross for our sins, not only for Israel but for all of us. We pray that our children will confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord, our God, and become children of faith who pray daily to the Lord.

이번 주일 아이들 설교말씀은 성막 건설 이야기 입니다. 모세가 사십일간 시내산에 거할 때에 하나님께서는 모세에게 성막 건설을 말씀하셨습니다. 하나님께서는 성막 건설의 모든 지침을 모세에게 주셨습니다. 성막은 단순한 탠트가 아닌 하나님께서 이스라엘 가운데 거하기로 하신 징표였습니다. 시내 산에서 내려온 모세는 사람들을 불러 하나님께서 말씀하신 모든 것들을 말하였습니다. 모세는 사람들에게 성막 건설을 위한 재료들을 말하였고, 사람들은 성막 건설을 위해 필요한 것보다 더 많이 헌금하였습니다. 성막 건설 이후 하나님께서는 아론과 그의 아들들을 제사장으로 세우셨습니다. 모세는 성막 건설을 위해 하나님께서 명령하신 모든것을 지켰습니다. 하나님의 영이 성막을 감쌌고, 하나님께서는 구름을 통해 성막에 거하시기도, 이스라엘을 가나안 땅으로 이끄시기도 하셨습니다. 장막 건설을 통해 하늘에서 계시던 하나님께서 마침내 땅으로 내려오셔 이스라엘과 함께 하기로 하셨습니다. 우리 아이들도 모세와 같이 하나님의 말씀에 언제나 순종하는 믿음의 자녀 되기를 기도합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday worship is about building the tabernacle. During the forty days when Moses was on Mount Sinai, God commanded Moses to build the tabernacle where God would stay. God gave Moses all the instructions for building the tabernacle. The tabernacle was not just a tent but the sign that God dwelled among the Israelites. Moses came down from Mount Sinai, called people, and told them everything God said. Moses asked people to bring all the materials for building the tabernacle, and people offered much more than needed. After building the tabernacle, Aaron and his sons were anointed to be the priests. Moses did exactly what God commanded, and the tabernacle was finally finished. The spirit of God covered the tabernacle, and the cloud of the Lord stayed on the tabernacle to lead the Israelites towards the land of promise. Through the tabernacle, God finally came to the land and began to stay with His people. We pray that our children become the children of faith like Moses who always obeyed God.

The sermon for this Sunday worship is the story about the Israelites worshipping the golden calf. God led the Israelites into the wilderness and protected them through the pillar of cloud and fire. God provided meat and manna so that they were not hungry. On the Mount Sinai, God gave the Ten Commandments to Moses. However, while Moses was staying on the mountain for 40 days, people under the mountain forgot the grace of God and made the statue of a golden calf. They worshiped the golden calf and danced before it. When God saw their sins and decided to destroy them, Moses asked God for forgiveness on their behalf. God remembered the great promise that He had made to Abraham, Isaac, and Joseph, and suspended His punishment. Moses went down the mountain, smashed the tablets, and destroyed the golden calf. He went up Mount Sinai the next day and asked God for forgiveness. God gave His laws and instructions once more on two new tablets. We pray that our children become the children of faith like Moses who always have their eyes on God and remember God’s grace.

이스라엘 자손의 온 회중이 그 광야에서 모세와 아론을 원망하였다. 이스라엘 자손이 그들에게 항의하였다. “차라리 우리가 이집트 땅 거기 고기 가마 곁에 앉아 배불리 음식을 먹던 그 때에, 누가 우리를 주님의 손에 넘겨 주어서 죽게 했더라면 더 좋을 뻔 하였습니다. 그런데 당신들은 지금 우리를 이 광야로 끌고 나와서, 이 모든 회중을 다 굶어 죽게 하고 있습니다.” 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. “너희가 먹을 것을 하늘에서 비처럼 내려 줄 터이니, 백성이 날마다 나가서, 그날 그날 먹을 만큼 거두어들이게 하여라. 이렇게 하여, 그들이 나의 지시를 따르는지, 따르지 않는지 시험하여 보겠다. The whole congregation of the Israelites complained against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness. The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the fleshpots and ate our fill of bread; for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.” Then the Lord said to Moses, “I am going to rain bread from heaven for you, and each day the people shall go out and gather enough for that day. In that way I will test them, whether they will follow my instruction or not. (New Revised Standard Version)

The sermon for this Sunday worship is about the story of manna. The Israelites who crossed the Red Sea entered the wilderness following the direction of God. God commanded Moses to let the Israelites know they should obey God. In the wilderness, the Israelites soon began to complain. Whenever they lacked food and water, they forgot about God and complained that they should have stayed in Egypt. Moses believed that God saved the Israelites from the Egyptian slavery and trusted God’s promise for Israel. God heard the complaints and offered them food. At night God gave quail for meat, and manna for grain in the morning. The Israelites were able to live in the wilderness for 40 years with God’s provision. God had always been with Israel and fulfilled their needs. In the New Testament, Jesus told us that He is the bread of life. Through the story of the Bible, God supplied bread for the flesh and spirit. We pray that our children become children of faith who trust God, follow Jesus Christ, and seek God’s help for their spirits and bodies.
