이번주일 아이들 설교말씀은 이스라엘의 불신앙 이야기 입니다. 여호수아가 죽은 뒤에 이스라엘은 모세, 아론, 그리고 여호수아 같은 강력한 지도자가 없었습니다. 그들은 곧 죄에 빠지게 되었고 하나님을 잊었습니다. 하나님께서는 이스라엘의 불신앙을 보시고 그들을 이웃 국가의 손에 넘기셨습니다. 이스라엘은 8년간 이방 왕을 섬겨야만 했습니다. 이스라엘은 그들의 불신앙을 반성하며 하나님과 함께 했을때 하나님께서 주셨던 좋을 것들을 기억하였습니다. 그들은 하나님께 울부짖었고 하나님께서는 사사 옷니엘을 세우셔 이스라엘을 구하셨습니다. 하지만 옷니엘이 죽자 다시 이스라엘은 하나님을 잊고 이방 신을 섬기는 죄를 범하였습니다. 하나님께서는 다시 이스라엘을 벌하시고 모압 족속에게 그들을 넘기셨습니다. 이스라엘은 모압 왕을 18년간 섬겨야 했습니다. 그들은 다시 하나님과 함께 했던 날들을 기억하며 슬피 울었습니다. 하나님께서는 사사 에훗을 보내셔 그들을 다시금 모압 왕으로부터 구하셨습니다. 우리 아이들도 날마다 하나님의 도우심을 구하며 늘 하나님을 신뢰하고 순종하는 믿음의 자녀들 되기를 기도합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday is about Israel’s unfaithfulness. After Joshua passed away, the Israelites did not have a strong leader like Moses, Aaron, or Joshua. They easily fell into sin and worshipped false gods. They ignored and forgot about the one true God. God was angry and gave them into the hands of their enemies. They had to serve the enemy for eight years. The Israelites remembered that God gave good things when they loved and obeyed God. When God heard their crying, God called Othniel to rule over them as the first judge. He saved Israel from the hands of their enemy. However, after Othniel passed away, the Israelites stopped following God and worshipped false gods again. God handed them over to the king of Moab, and they served the king for 18 years. When they cried out to God again, God called Ehud as the next judge. Ehud killed the king of Moab and saved the Israelites. I pray that our children become the children of faith who always trust and obey God.

이번 주일 아이들 설교말씀은 다섯 왕과의 전쟁 이야기입니다. 하나님께서 여호수아와 이스라엘을 도우셔서 이스라엘 민족은 여리고와 아이 지역에 거주 할 수 있게 되었습니다. 그리고 옆 나라인 기브온과 화친을 맺어 평화의 관계를 유지하고 있었습니다. 그러던 어느날 가나안 땅 남방의 다섯 왕들이 기브온을 침략하려고 하였습니다. 다섯 왕은 하나님을 믿지 않았고 기브온이 이스라엘과 화친을 맺었기에 두려웠기 때문입니다. 기브온의 왕은 여호수아에게 도움을 요청하였고, 여호수아는 모든 군대를 이끌고 다섯 왕과 맞서 싸웠습니다. 하나님께서는 여호수아에게 두려워하지 말라고 말씀하시며 그들과의 전투에서 승리할 것을 말씀하셨습니다. 이스라엘이 전쟁 할 때에 하나님께서는 우박을 내리셔 이스라엘을 도우시고 해를 멈추셔 낮시간동안 이스라엘이 전투를 벌일 수 있도록 도우셨습니다. 이스라엘은 하나님께 온전히 순종하였고, 하나님이 이스라엘을 도우셨습니다. 그래서 이스라엘은 점점 많은 땅을 차지할 수 있었습니다. 우리 아이들도 날마다 하나님을 신뢰하며 하나님의 도우심을 구하는 믿음의 자녀들 되기를 기도합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday worship is about the battle against five kings. Since God helped Joshua and the Israelites, they took the land of Jericho and Ai, and made peace with the people of Gibeon. One day, five kings of South Canaan planned to attack Gibeon. They did not love or worship God and were afraid of the peace treaty between Israel and Gibeon. When five kings attacked Gibeon, the king of Gibeon asked Israel for help. Joshua and his whole army went to Gibeon to fight against five kings. The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of the kings, since I have handed them over to you.” When they were fighting against the five kings’ armies, God sent hail from the sky and stopped the sun to extend daytime to help the battle. The Israelites fully obeyed God, and God always helped the Israelites to take over many other cities. We pray that our children become the children of faith who always trust God, and ask for God’s help.

이번 주일 아이들 설교말씀은 기도에 관한 이야기 입니다. 우리는 매일 하나님께 기도를 드리지만 기도란 무엇이며, 어떠한 것들을 기도해야 할지는 모를때가 있습니다. 그렇기에 오늘 말씀은 예수님께서 가르쳐주신 주기도문의 요소들을 통해 어떠한 것들을 기도하는지 배우는 시간을 가집니다. 첫째로 기도는 하나님과의 소통입니다. 기도를 통해 하나님과의 교제를 나눌 수 있으며 하나님의 음성을 듣는 시간입니다. 두번째로 기도는 하나님께 고백하고 또한 응답을 받는 시간입니다. 우리는 인생 가운데 많은 어려움 마주하고 때로는 그 원인조차 알 수 없는 일들을 마주합니다. 이때에 우리의 상황을 하나님께 고백하며 하나님의 응답을 구하는 시간입니다. 마지막으로 기도느 크리스천의 기쁨이 되는 시간입니다. 창조자 하나님을 마주하는 기도의 시간이 하루 가운데 가장 기쁘며 즐거운 시간이 되는 것이 우리의 기도의 시간입니다. 우리 아이들이 날마다 하나님께 기도 드릴 때에 하나님을 경험하고 주님 안에 기쁨을 느끼는 믿음의 자녀들 되기를 기도합니다.

So, today, we will learn how to pray based on the elements of the Lord’s prayer Jesus taught. First, prayer is communicating with God. Through prayer, we can build a relationship with God and listen to the voice of God. Second, prayer is asking and receiving from God. In our lives, we face many difficulties and mysteries that we do not know the reason for. We should tell our situations to God and ask for God’s guidance. Lastly, prayer is the joyful time for Christians. Meeting our creator is the most precious experience for us. It is the most delightful and enjoyable time of a day. We pray that our children experience God and become children of faith who feel joy in Him through prayer.

주님께서 여호수아에게 말씀하셨다. “내가 여리고와 그 왕과 용사들을 너의 손에 붙인다. 너희 가운데서 전투를 할 수 있는 모든 사람은, 엿새 동안 그 성 주위를 날마다 한 번씩 돌아라. 제사장 일곱 명을, 숫양 뿔 나팔 일곱 개를 들고 궤 앞에서 걷게 하여라. 이레째 되는 날에, 너희는 제사장들이 나팔을 부는 동안 성을 일곱 번 돌아라. 제사장들이 숫양 뿔 나팔을 한 번 길게 불면, 백성은 그 나팔 소리를 듣고 모두 큰 함성을 질러라. 그러면 성벽이 무너져 내릴 것이다. 그 때에 백성은 일제히 진격하여라.” (새번역)

The Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have handed Jericho over to you, along with its king and soldiers. You shall march around the city, all the warriors circling the city once. Thus you shall do for six days, with seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. On the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, the priests blowing the trumpets. When they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, as soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet, then all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city will fall down flat, and all the people shall charge straight ahead.” (New Revised Standard Version)

이번 주일 아이들 설교말씀은 여리고성의 함락 이야기 입니다. 하나님께서는 여호수아에게 여리고성 함락을 위해 특별한 명령을 하셨습니다. 하나님의 명령은 여리고성의 함락을 위해 전쟁을 하는 것이 아니라 하나님께서는 다른 방법을 명령하셨습니다. 이스라엘의 군대가 엿새동안 성 주위를 한바퀴씩 돌고 칠일째 되는 날에는 나팔을 불며 여리고 성을 일곱번 돌라고 하셨습니다. 그리하면 성벽이 무너질 것이라고 하나님께서 말씀하셨습니다. 이에 여호수아는 제사장들이 언약궤를 메게 한 다음 일곱 제사장이 뿔 나팔을 불게하며 여리고 성을 하루에 한 바퀴씩 돌게 하였습니다. 그리고 칠일째 되는 날 여리고성을 일곱바퀴 돌고 이스라엘의 군대는 큰 소리로 외쳤습니다. 그러자 여리고성벽이 무너졌고 이스라엘은 그 땅을 취할 수 있었습니다. 여호수아와 이스라엘 백성은 하나님의 말씀에 순종 하였고 하나님께서는 약속한 땅으로 그들을 인도하셨습니다. 우리 아이들도 하나님의 말씀에 순종하는 믿음의 자녀들 되기를 기도합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday is about the battle of Jericho. God gave Joshua a special command to conquer Jericho. Instead of having a war, God took a different way. God commanded the Israelites to march around the city once everyday for six days, while blowing the trumpet. On the seventh day, they would march around Jericho seven times, and the wall would collapse. Joshua commanded the priests to carry the ark of the covenant. As they blew their horns, the Israelites marched around Jericho for six days. On the seventh day, when they marched seven times and shouted, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and Israel were able to take the land. Joshua and the Israelites obeyed God’s words, and God led them into the promised land. We pray that our children become the children of faith who obey the words of God.

After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying, “My servant Moses is dead. Now proceed to cross the Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the Israelites. (New Revised Standard Version)

이번주일 아이들 설교말씀은 요단강을 건너는 이스라엘의 이야기입니다. 하나님께서는 아브라함에게 가나안 땅을 약속하시고, 이스라엘은 40년의 광야생활을 마치고 약속의 땅에 거의 다다랐습니다. 모세는 죽었고, 하나님께서는 여호수아를 이스라엘의 새로운 지도자로 세우셨습니다. 이제 이스라엘이 가나안 땅으로 들어가기에 방해가 되는 것은 오직 요단강 뿐이었습니다. 요단강은 넓고 깊었습니다. 이스라엘은 그들 스스로 강을 건널 방법이 없었지만 하나님께서는 이스라엘을 도우셨습니다. 제사장들이 법궤를 메고 요단강에 다다르자 하나님께서는 요단강의 물을 멈추셨고 이스라엘은 요단강을 건너갈 수 있었습니다. 하나님께서는 요단강 바닥에 있는 돌 열 두 개를 집으라고 하셨고 그 돌들을 보며 하나님의 도우심을 기억하라고 하셨습니다. 우리 아이들도 날마다 우리의 구세주 되신 예수 그리스도를 기억하는 믿음의 자녀들 되기를 기도합니다.

Today’s story is about crossing the Jordan River. God promised Abraham that his descendants would live in Canaan. After 40 years in the wilderness, it was time for the remaining people to enter the land. Moses was dead, and God chose Joshua to be the new leader of Israel. The only thing that kept the Israelites from entering the land was the Jordan River. The river was deep and wide. The Israelites could never cross the river on their own, but God was there to help them. When the priests took a step into the river with the ark, God stopped the water for people to safely cross. God commanded to take twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan River, wanting the Israelites to remember God’s help whenever they saw the stones. We pray that our children become the children of faith who remember Jesus Christ who is our Savior.
