본문말씀: 열왕기상 1 Kings 17:8-9

여호와께서 엘리야에게 말씀하셨습니다. “너는 일어나서 시돈 땅 사르밧으로 가서 살아라. 그 곳의 한 과부에게 너를 돌보아 주라고 명령했다.” (쉬운성경)

Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Go now to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and live there; for I have commanded a widow there to feed you.” (New Living Translation)

이번주일 아이들 설교말씀은 엘리야 선지자와 과부의 이야기 입니다. 아합왕은 이전의 어떤 왕들보다 더욱 거짓 신들을 섬겼고, 그의 죄를 회개하기를 거부했습니다. 하나님께서는 엘리야를 통해 하나님의 말씀을 아합 왕에게 전하였습니다. 하지만 아합왕은 하나님의 말씀을 거부하였고 오히려 엘라야를 죽이려 하였습니다. 엘리야는 아합왕을 피해 요단강 근처의 물가로 도망갔습니다. 하나님께서는 까마귀를 통해 엘리야에게 빵과 고기를 공급하셨습니다. 그가 있던 물가의 물이 다 마르자 하나님은 엘리야를 시돈 지역의 사르밧으로 보내셨고, 그곳의 한 과부가 그를 도울 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그 마을에서 엘리야는 그 과부를 만났고, 그녀는 가난 가운데에도 엘리야를 도왔습니다. 하나님께서는 그 여자를 축복하셨고, 다시 비가 올때까지 그녀의 부엌에 밀가루와 기름이 떨어지지 않을 것이라고 하셨습니다. 우리 아이들도 항상 하나님의 말씀을 신뢰하고 그분의 약속을 믿는 믿음의 자녀들 되기를 기도합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday’s worship is about the story of Elijah and the widow. King Ahab worshiped falsa gods more than all kings before him and had refused to repent of his sins. God sent Elijah to King Ahab to deliver His message. However, King Ahab refused God’s message and thought about killing Elijah. Elijah fled from Ahab and went to a stream of Jordan river. God helped Elijah through sending ravens that would bring him bread and meat. When the stream dried up, God sent Elijah to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and told him that he would meet a woman who would help him. At the village, Elijah met with the woman, and she helped him even though she was poor. God blessed the woman so she would not run out of flour or oil until rain came again. We pray that our children became children of faith who trust and believe in God’s promise and words.
