본문말씀: 열왕기상 1 Kings 11:10-12
제목: 이스라엘 왕국이 나뉘다 The Kingdom Divided

여호와께서는 솔로몬에게 다른 신을 따르지 말라고 명령하셨지만, 솔로몬은 여호와의 명령에 복종하지 않았습니다. 그래서 여호와께서는 솔로몬에게 “너는 나와 맺은 언약을 어기고 내 명령을 따르지 않았다. 그러므로 나는 네 나라를 너에게서 빼앗아 네 신하에게 줄 것이다. 그러나 네가 살아 있는 동안에는 그렇게 하지 않겠다. 왜냐하면 내가 네 아버지 다윗을 사랑하기 때문이다. 네 아들이 왕이 될 때에 이 나라를 갈라 놓겠다. (쉬운성경)

He had warned Solomon specifically about worshiping other gods, but Solomon did not listen to the LORD ’s command. So now the LORD said to him, “Since you have not kept my covenant and have disobeyed my decrees, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your servants. But for the sake of your father, David, I will not do this while you are still alive. I will take the kingdom away from your son. (New Living Translation)

이번주일 아이들 설교말씀은 솔로몬을 향한 하나님의 벌 이야기 입니다. 솔로몬왕은 하나님을 사랑하였습니다. 하지만 그는 전심으로 하나님을 사랑하지 않았습니다. 솔로몬은 수백명의 부인을 두고, 그들중 많은 여인들은 다른 나라로 부터 왔습니다. 솔로몬의 아내들은 그의 마음을 하나님에게로부터 돌렸고, 그는 그의 아내들 섬기는 거짓 신들을 섬기기 시작했습니다. 하나님은 솔로몬의 죄에 화가 나셨고 그의 나라를 두개로 나누셨습니다. 솔로몬이 죽고 난 뒤, 그의 아들 르호보암은 왕이 되었습니다. 하지만 그는 그의 백성들을 잘 돌보지 않았고, 오히려 전보다 더욱 무거운 노역을 시켰습니다. 이스라엘 백성은 더이상 르호보암같은 왕을 섬기기 싫었습니다. 그래서 그들은 왕의 신하였던 여로보암을 왕으로 삼았습니다. 그는 북 이스라엘의 왕이 되었습니다. 남 유다에는 오직 한 부족만이 르호보암의 통치 아래에 있게됐습니다. 우리 아이들은 날마다 하나님께 기쁨을 드리는 믿음의 자녀들이 되기를 기도합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday is about the story of God’s punishment to Solomon. King Solomon loved God, but he did not love God with his whole heart. Solomon had hundreds of wives, and many of them were from other nations. Solomon’s wives turned him away from God, and he began to worship the false gods that his wives worshiped. God was angry and said that the kingdom of Israel would divide in two. After Solomon died, his son Rehoboam became king. However, he did not care for his people but rather gave harder work than before. The Israelites did not want to serve a king like Rehoboam, so they made Jeroboam, an official of Rehoboam, king. Now he was king of the Northern Kingdom of Israel. Only one tribe remained under Rehoboam’s rule, and that was the Southern Kingdom of Judah. We pray that our children become children of faith to please God.
