In the four hundred eightieth year after the Israelites came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the house of the Lord. (New Living Translation)

이번주일 아이들 성경말씀은 솔로몬의 성전 건축 이야기입니다. 다윗 왕이 죽고, 솔로몬은 이스라엘의 왕이 되었습니다. 하나님은 솔로몬에게 지혜를 주셨고, 솔로몬은 하나님 앞에 바른 사람이었습니다. 하나님의 약속대로 솔로몬은 하나님을 위한 성전 건축을 하였습니다. 7년간의 공사가 끝난 뒤 장막 안에 있던 언약궤를 성전 안으로 옮겼습니다. 하나님의 영이 성전 안을 가득 채웠고, 이스라엘은 하나님께 영광을 올렸습니다. 하나님께서는 이스라엘이 하나님께 순종하면 그들과 함께 하시겠다고 약속하셨습니다. 우리 아이들도 날마다 하나님 말씀에 순종하고 늘 하나님과 함께 하는 믿음의 자녀들 되기를 기도합니다.

Today’s story is about how Solomon built the temple. After King David passed away, Solomon became the king of Israel. God gave Solomon wisdom, and Solomon was a righteous man before God. God accomplished His promise to David that Solomon would build the temple for God. After seven years of building the temple, the ark of God was moved from the tabernacle to the temple. The Spirit of God filled the temple, and the Israelites praised God. God promised that He would be with the Israelites when they obeyed God. We pray that our children become children of faith who obey God’s words and stay beside God.
