본문말씀: 사무엘상 1 Samuel 24:10-11

왕이여 보십시오! 여호와께서 오늘 동굴에서 왕을 내 손에 맡기신 것을 당신도 보셨습니다. 어떤 사람은 왕을 죽이라고 말하였으나, 나는 ‘내 주는 여호와께서 기름 부으신 왕이므로 해치지 않겠노라’고 말했습니다. 내 아버지여, 내 손에 들려 있는 왕의 옷자락을 보십시오. 나는 왕의 옷자락을 잘라 내기만 하고 죽이지는 않았습니다. 자, 이제는 내가 왕에게 어떤 나쁜 일도 할 생각이 없다는 것을 알아 주십시오. 나는 왕에게 죄를 짓거나 해치려고 한 적이 없습니다. 그런데도 왕은 나를 죽이려고 쫓아오고 있습니다. (쉬운성경)

This very day you can see with your own eyes it isn’t true. For the LORD placed you at my mercy back there in the cave. Some of my men told me to kill you, but I spared you. For I said, ‘I will never harm the king—he is the LORD ’s anointed one.’ Look, my father, at what I have in my hand. It is a piece of the hem of your robe! I cut it off, but I didn’t kill you. This proves that I am not trying to harm you and that I have not sinned against you, even though you have been hunting for me to kill me. (New Living Translation)

이번주일 아이들 설교말씀은 다윗의 자비 이야기 입니다. 다윗은 사울왕을 섬겼고 많은 전투에서 승리하였습니다. 그래서 사람들은 점점 더 사울 왕보다 다윗을 좋아하였습니다. 이에 사울왕은 다윗을 질투하였고 다윗을 죽이려 하였습니다. 다윗은 광야로 도망하였고, 사울왕은 다윗을 쫓았습니다. 광야에서 사울왕은 용변을 보기 위해 한 동굴로 들어갔고 그 동굴 안에는 다윗과 그의 무리들이 숨어있었습니다. 다윗은 사울왕을 죽일 수 있었지만 사울의 옷자락만 잘랐습니다. 다윗은 하나님께서 사울 왕을 세우셨기 때문에 죽이지 않았습니다. 사울이 동굴 밖으로 나갔을 때 다윗이 사울왕을 따라가 그에게 자른 옷자락을 보여주며 사울왕은 자신을 죽이려 했지만 자신은 사울왕에게 자비를 베풀었다고 하였습니다. 이에 사울왕은 울며 자신의 잘못을 뉘우쳤습니다. 우리 아이들도 친구들에게 그리고 다른 사람들에게 늘 선을 베푸는 주님의 자녀들 되기를 기도합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday worship is about the Story of David’s mercy. David served King Saul and won many battles. People liked David much more than King Saul. Saul was jealous of David and planned to kill him. David ran away into the wilderness and Saul chased him. In the wilderness, Saul went into a cave to use the bathroom, where David and his men were hiding in the back. David could have killed Saul, but he only cut off the edge of Saul’s robe because he knew that God chose Saul as king. When Saul left the cave, David followed. He called Saul and said that even though King Saul tried to kill him, he showed mercy. King Saul cried and repented his wrongdoings. We pray that our children become children of God who show mercy to their friends and others.
