본문말씀: 창세기 (Genesis 6:13-14)

하나님이 노아에게 말씀하셨다. 땅은 사람들 때문에 무법천지가 되었고, 그 끝날이 이르렀으니, 내가 반드시 사람과 땅을 함께 멸하겠다. 너는 잣나무로 방주 한 척을 만들어라. 방주 안에 방을 여러 칸 만들고, 역청을 안팎에 칠하여라. (새번역)

And God said to Noah, “I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence because of them; now I am going to destroy them along with the earth. Make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch. (New Revised Standard Version)

이번 주일 아이들 설교말씀은 노아의 방주 이야기입니다. 아담과 하와는 에덴동산에서 쫓겨나게 되었고, 그 이후 열 세대가 지나 이 땅의 사람들은 하나님 따르기를 멈췄습니다. 그들은 모든 일에 그들의 뜻대로 하였고 그들의 행동은 언제나 죄 가운데 있었습니다. 이 모습을 지켜보신 하나님께서는 그들을 벌하기로 결정하셨고 홍수로 이 땅의 것들을 깨끗게 하시기로 결심하셨습니다. 그렇지만 하나님께서는 노아와 그의 가족들은 홍수로부터 구해주셨습니다. 노아는 하나님 앞에 의로운 사람이었습니다. 그는 언제나 하나님을 신뢰하였고 하나님의 말씀에 순종하는 사람이었습니다. 하나님께서는 노아에게 방주를 만들어 그의 가족들과 모든 동물들은 태우도록 명령하셨고 노아는 그 말씀에 순종하여 방주를 만들어 그의 가족들과 모든 동물들을 구하였습니다. 홍수 이후 노아는 여전히 하나님께 제사(예배)를 드렸고 하나님께서는 노아와 그의 가족에게 무지개를 약속의 징표로 보여주셨습니다. 우리 아이들도 노아와 같이 언제나 하나님을 신뢰하고 하나님 말씀에 순종하는 하나님 보시기에 의로운 믿음의 아이들이 되기를 기도합니다. 악이 넘치는 세상에 하나님의 말씀이 아이들에게 삶의 기준임을 가르치는 가정과 교회 되기를 또한 소망합니다.

The sermon for this Sunday is about the story of Noah. Ten generations after Adam and Eve were casted out from the garden of Eden, people stopped following God. They did whatever they wanted and were always among sin. God saw their sinful actions and decided to send a flood to clean the earth. However, God rescued Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man who always trusted and followed God. God commanded Noah to build an ark, and Noah obeyed. The ark saved Noah, his family, and all kinds of animals. After the flood, Noah built an altar to worship God, and God showed Noah and his family a rainbow as a sign of the covenant. We pray that our children become children of faith like Noah who always trusted and obeyed God. We also hope that our parents and the church teach that the word of God is the most important standard in our children’s lives.
